12 month SEO Strategy for Reuze It

If you’ve read any of the articles that we’ve written about SEO you know that you need to invest some time and some patience with a smart strategy in order to start seeing a return.

And that’s a difficult thing for a business who is looking to invest in SEO for the first time. We’re asking you to pay each month and trust that in the end it’s going to work. It’s that initial leap of faith and that extension of trust that’s understandably scary.

So let us share an example of what you could see if you take that leap and invest some time (and money) with us.

56% more organic traffic

30% more sales from organic traffic alone

The background.

An eCommerce eco brand approached us requesting to increase the amount of traffic that they receive month on month to their online store. The eco-zero waste-low waste sector is pretty packed and very noisy with big brand, small brands and some well-known consumer product brands who are diversifying and moving into eco-products.

This brand has a fantastic product range and great processes in place ensuring a good returning customer rate, but they needed to be heard amongst all the noise in order to get those brand new customers.

The strategy.

We worked with the brand to identify and define their niche within this space to set them apart from their competitors. This process means that we can focus our attention in a much more targeted and personalised manner that’s more likely to capture the attention and resonate with their audience.

In part their niche audience is one that’s new to eco or low-waste products and whilst they’re enthusiastic they’re overwhelmed by the volume of information and the variety of products. They have limited time in their daily lives, and they have a limited budget so they’re nervous about investing in expensive products if they’re not going to be easily adopted.

From a technical standpoint we knew that we needed to raise the authority of their website and do some serious work in helping the search engines to understand their expertise in this industry in order to compete with their well-established competitors.

We knew that producing high-quality long form content in the form of guides, how-to and product spotlights would both answer the need to educate and inform their target audience as well as providing more keyword-rich, expert content that’s great for search engines but also for the client’s social media strategy to drive traffic from those platforms to their website.

The results.

Within one year of working on this website the client has seen a 53% increase in traffic from Google search PLUS an additional 456 visitors in just three months through organic Google Shopping listings.

That’s 53% more traffic just from Google search. But we’re not simply looking for traffic for the stat, are we? This has to equate to sales for the client.

In the same period this client saw a 30% increase in sales from organic traffic alone, that’s thousands of dollars in additional sales from organic traffic

We also know that during this period their returning customer rate improved by 25%, to 17%, meaning that 17% of their customers will make additional purchases. As these customers are returning their subsequent sales won’t be attributed to organic traffic but we’ve done in the maths and in just 7 months this would be at least an additional $2028.95.

The blog was a big part of getting this website more visibility on Google but it ended up being a hit across all channels. Overall traffic to the blog was responsible for 262.76% more users visiting their website across all sources. However organic traffic to the blog pages alone saw a jump of 496% more users. If you take a look at the below blog posts, in particular the one focusing on organic traffic, you can see what a massive impact these articles have had on the client’s traffic.

Ultimately this brand has seen huge positive growth in their organic traffic, and we’ve focused the strategy on building traffic from their target market and those looking to purchase.
